Home History of Cushman Cushman Military Scooter Eagle Super Eagle The Cushman Eagle by Wilma Sossaman
1957 Eagle
The most popular Cushman scooter is the Eagle. Probably because it almost looks like a miniature Harley Davidson. It has a nice big seat as well as a buddy seat. This one has fiberglass saddlebags installed. You may notice the carburetor looks different. It happens to be a Mikuni. The Mikuni does give it more get up and go. And most Cushman Eagles have a 8 HP Husky engine. The speedometer shows speeds up to 60 miles, but we normally only ride them at about 40 - 45 mph. And the gas mileage is around 70-80 miles to the gallon.
When we are riding our scooters and stop at a gas station, we even have Harley riders come up and ask what kind of bike we are riding. And then occasionally someone will ask where they can buy one. And then we tell them they have not been made since 1965. And then when we mention the cost, they change their mind. These are not $2,000 - $3,000 machines. Notice the fender tip and the pin striping? That is what makes your bike stand out.
